An active arrest warrant or bench warrant is enough to make anyone lose sleep: the stress of knowing you can be arrested anytime, anywhere is serious. The most important thing you need to know is the sooner you get ahead of it, the better. 

The bad news: the warrant isn't going to go away until you turn yourself in. 

The good news: the faster you turn yourself in, the better of a chance you have at the bond hearing. This can demonstrate to a judge that you are not a flight risk, which can help secure you a lower bond.  

Turning yourself in can be a very scary thought, and many are tempted to simply ignore the warrant and hope it goes away. Do not be that person and find yourself getting arrested tomorrow, next week, next year, or in 5, 10, 20 years from now.
